Where am I? » 1
I awoke with a sharp pain in my side. "Ouch!"
"Oh sorry," a female voice said. "I was seeing if you were dead or alive. You've been lying out here for quite some time. Almost three hours."
"What? I must get back home!" I jumped up and found that I was in a forest. Looking up I saw only sky. I could've sworn that I had just fallen off a staircase. "How do you know how long I've been here," I finally asked.
"I've been hunting and I was just about to kill a tiger when there was a blue streak across the sky which scared the tiger away. When I looked at the ground where the tiger had been I saw you but I decided to stay up here until I was ready to head home. I think you fell from a plane."
"A plane?" I laughed. "No, I fell from the staircase up there."
"Staircase? I think you hit your head to hard when you fell," she said. "Come with me and you can rest at my house. My parents shouldn't mind."
I agreed to follow her since there was no sign up the stairs. I figured I could just explain to my parents and uncle later. That's when I realized that I was missing something. "Wait."
"What?"
"I'm missing a book. I need to find it."
"You mean this one?" she asked holding up the black book. "I don't see why you need it. Every page is blank." She handed the book to me and smiled. "But I guess you need it for writing."
Writing. That gave me an idea. "Yeah. I was gonna write in it."
"Cool! Enough talk, though. It is getting late and I really must get home for dinner or my parents will start worrying. Come keep up," she said and broke into a run.
I ran after her and yelled ahead, "Sorry about scaring the tiger away."
"Don't worry about it. There is plenty of food in town. Come! Faster!"
